windows automatic update annoyance

I hate it when Windows XP tells me to restart every few minutes after I install updates, and doing so via a popup that interrupts my work.

Gonna try this solution here, hope it works: http://4sysops.com/archives/disable-restart-after-windows-automatic-updates/

surfer poe

read this on bash.org. it’s hilarious!:

<link> once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ‘ hot xxx galore’. While i clicked my fav’rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, ” ‘Tis not possible!”, i muttered, ” give me back my free hardcore!”….. quoth the server, 404.
<hokage> *cries*, scary….

this year’s top-hated establishments

A list to be updated as the year passes, contains a bunch of entities I’ve come to despise.

1. UiTM – For issuing the wrong convocation DVD, taking it back, and forgetting to replace it. We paid RM30 for it. The sum is of no consequence, but it’s just the idea of them thinking they can treat their administrative tasks so lightly. If you can’t handle simple distribution of media, how can you ensure the quality of our local education?

2. Astro – For somehow screwing up my reception after a few packages were dropped. For making it worse after I called their tech support. For charging RM50 to get a technician to come. Beware, a traditional monopoly in the making!

3. TMnet – For treating their home Streamyx customers like shit by ways of throttling and very bad routing. For leaving front line support to the hands of idiots. And for being smug about it.

More to come~

who says failed attempts are a waste?

So we tried our hand at Hydross the Unstable in SSC last night. We wiped so many times that my repair bill hit 20g for the first time (and that’s just cloth!). The elevator deaths were funny though, tee hee.

But lo and behold, while clearing the mobs a 2nd time this dropped:
[Pattern: Boots of the Long Road]

And I was the only tailoring cloth healer, yippie! These boots were the best in the game before Mount Hyjal. It’ll definitely stay on me for quite a while.

Problem is, I was at 358 tailoring when Zerul gave me that pattern. To get to 375, I needed 1300 Netherweave Cloth, among other things. Now I need to get 840, plus some Soul Essence, Netherweb Spider Silk, and Arcane Dust. And not to forget 1 Primal Nether.

Goodbye gold! Hopefully you’ll return to me soon once I level up my potion-making Blood Elf Mage.
